Under Water

When experimenting with my sixth shoot, I decided to relate the experimentation with the scenery involved in the images and since I photographed the sea, I decided to put my images in some water for a long period of time and see what effect this would have to the paper and the ink. As I previously researched this technique, I expected the different ink colours to run and mix, distorting the original image, however this did not go to plan but I still feel the experimentation was successful even though the final outcome was not what I expected.

This is one of the images in which I left in water for about 3 weeks, the colours faded and the water has left marks/stains in parts. Furthermore, by leaving the image in the water, it has aged he image as some of the colours have been distorted to look old, the water has also made the paper-thin and has ripped the image in parts. By making the image look aged, this could imply to the viewer that the actual, physical image is old and tatty, meaning that it was taken a long time ago, and this illustrates the on going problem of man destroying nature.

The water has had a slightly different effect on this image, than the previous image because the water marks are more around the edges of the image, rather than just at the top, the water has also created holes in the image which look like the paper has been burnt, however this is just the effects that the water has created.
