Matthew Brandt
Matthew Brandt has photographed images of lakes and reservoirs and after he developed them, he put them in water, and this made the colours of the image become distorted. The water he used was samples of water from each of the locations he photographed and this gave different outcomes for each of the samples. This will link into my theme because by putting my images into water, it is a natural reaction that will happen to a man made object which is the actual photograph.
These images are a selection of Brandt's experimental work; they all show how the water has changed the colours of the exposed images, and make the colours run. I think that the idea behind the experiment is interesting as each of the images show different lakes and the water that the image is exposed to, is from these lakes showing that the water represents the lakes in the image. Furthermore, I like the effect that the water has on the colours of the image as it changes them from a simple landscape image to something more successful and unique.
