Final Piece Ideas
When representing my final images, I plan to link this in with my idea of my shoots. I am going to do this by linking in the idea of reflections with the way the images are displayed, I have some initial ideas of how I could do this such as printing some of my final images onto mirrors so that the images are translucent and the reflections can be seen through them. I have also had the idea of printing some of my images on asitate and then backing them with mirrors which will hopefully give the same effect.
Technique One:
This is a screenshot from a tutorial in which I found online which explains how to transfer a printed image onto a mirror surface. I will experiment with this technique to see if it will be a successful was to transfer the image and if the outcome is successful then I will consider using this idea and technique as a way of displaying my images for my final piece. I think that if this technique works, it will look better than the other ways such as using asitate and backing it with a mirror as the image will be neater.
Technique Two:
The second technique in which I am going to try is that of printing the image onto sticky back plastic so that it is on a transparent surface making the image translucent. Once it is printed, I will then peel the plastic from the backing paper and place it onto the mirror making sure that it has no air bubbles or creases and make sure that it sticks flat on the mirror surface. This will the create a different type of image, making it more successful and unique to the rest of the image and techniques that I have experimented with.
After trying this technique, I have found that my first try worked out really well, giving a successful outcome that I know works. The technique makes the images look slightly distorted from the original digital versions however I think that it creates more effect for the viewer. It also makes the mirrored reflection not as clear as the reflections before the process, but again, I think that this makes the outcomes more successful as the distorted relection allows the viewer to focus more on the images printed onto the reflective surface. Once I had transfered the stick back plastic with the image on, onto the mirror, I just used a craft knife to tidy up and cut off the edges of the remaining plastic that did not cover the mirror.
