Rosanna Jones
Rosanna Jones is a British photographer who focuses on perfection and how visual perfection is not always appreciated, and then through various methods, she destroys the beauty and perfection. By scratching away, or bleaching photographs is a way that Rosanna can relate to her images on a higher level; each scratch, tear or bleach mark symbolises how both society and the human mind have the power to destroy the most beautiful moments of our life. Her work relates to by own as I am illustrating how mankind/society destroy the beauty of nature and the natural world but destroying the environment. As I have been photographing landscapes so far, I am planning on doing an experimental shoot of a model appearing in water with various natural objects around them to show how nature is trying to fight back and take over mankind, as it will look as though the model is drawing in the nature of the image. The image below illustrates how Jones is covering up the innocence and beauty of the model by covering their body with milky water and only showing parts of them. I like the colours of the image below as the black and white almost creates the effect of the models body parts blending into the water, slowing disappearing.
