Pinterest Research
When given the brief of Beneath the Surface, I decided to look on Pinterest for inspiration and ideas of what I was going to base my project on. When looking at pins linked to beneath the surface, I pinned all of the images which looked interesting to me and from there I came up with the theme of memories and collections. Furthermore, by using Pinterest I was also able to find artists and photographers with the same genres and themes in which I was interesting in, this then will inspire my future shoots. The images that I have pinned have also inspired me to try the different genres of photography within the theme of which I have decided to focus on.

I like this image because it is also based on collecting things, which have been put in a jar, these objects could have been inherited or have sentimental value to the owner. I intend to do something like this however I will use jewellery within the jar instead of random objects.
I like the idea of this image as the main subject of the image is the jar and that is what I am aiming to do in my first shoot. The photographer has thought about depth of field and the lighting has a good effect too; the way that the sun is shining through the glass.
This image also inspires me because there is a photo in the jar with other things behind it which gives the impression that whoever owns the jar has been collecting things to put inside of this, this links in with my theme as it is a collection of memories.
This image links in well with my theme and ideas as the photos inside of the jars represent the memories and show that the jar holds sentimental value to the owner. It inspires me because I like the idea of collecting memories and this is a specific way of doing so.

I like the idea of containing lights within a jar because I think it is a good way to illustrate the idea of what collections mean to people and how this can be effected by memories. I think that it is also a good idea because it is different from my other shoots as I have never used lights before however it does link in because of the jar and the idea behind the research which is memories and collections. All of these examples are very appealing to look at and I inspire to make my images look like this also, however I will be having a wooden box as the background to structure my shoot a bit more, and my shoot is planned so that it will link in with memories and collections in a box. I think that the examples which are darker are slightly underexposed however I will not allow this to happen in my shoot because hopefully the background will brighten up the image to make the lighting of high quality. When researching on Pinterest, I came across this idea and then looked more into it, I think this is a good idea as it will further develop my ideas.
